A Mint Baby Shower

This past Spring I threw a Baby Shower for my best friend Jonilyn in Marina del Rey,  it was the very first event that I got to plan on my own. It was a bit nerve-wracking at times, but I had so much fun during the process. Jonilyn was having a girl but I wanted to stay away from the color pink so I decided on a mint and Kraft color palette with a touch of gold.

I had the invitations made at Zazzle and put then in kraft envelopes from Paper Source. They looked adorable! I purchased twenty vases from the dollar store and spray painted them white and gold; the day of the baby shower I headed to the LA Flower Market at 5:00 am and purchased over 300 roses in pink, yellow and white. My small apartment smelled heavenly!

A dessert bar is a must have for a brunch Baby Shower so I made sure we had one. We had warm brownies, oatmeal, chocolate chip and white chocolate cookies made from Diddy Riese {on a side note, if you're in L.A. and craving some sugar this place is a MUST!} and red velvet cupcakes from Sprinkles Beverly Hills

The menu started off with seasonal fruit and crab cakes, then guests could choose their main entree between eggs benedict, salmon, steak and eggs, brioche french toast and linguini & clams. Mimosas were also a big part of this celebration, and of course ice tea for the ladies who did not want alcohol.

We played a couple games and gifted the winners with candles from West Elm carefully packaged in gold striped wrapping paper and polka dot ribbon. We thanked each guest for coming with a pair of silver heart-shaped pave earrings.

Overall we had the most wonderful time and can't wait to plan another brunch! Baby Riley was born about a month after the baby shower and she is the cutest little girl I've ever seen.

XoXo,
